Your first look at Margot Robbie and Anya Taylor-Joy in David O. Russell’s mysterious film

Margot Robbie Anya Taylor-Joy film

When two of Hollywood's biggest stars of the moment unite, we can rest assured that magic will follow. Naturally then, when sneaky pictures of Australian native Margot Robbie and The Queen's Gambit's Anya Taylor-Joy emerged from the set of a new film, we were understandably elated.

As with all high-profile projects, details of David O. Russell's upcoming film still remain very tightly under-wraps. The sure-to-be cinematic masterpiece from the celebrated director behind the 2013 action comedy, American Hustle; has slowly continued production, filming in Los Angeles during the pandemic. The shots of both Robbie and Taylor-Joy show the stars elegantly dressed in floor-length gowns, Gatsby-era hairstyles and plenty of jewels.

Although for now, we can only dream of the role Golden Globes nominee Taylor-Jones will play, the images we have of her certainly depict a character with strong sartorial prowess. Sporting a floor-length, plunging neckline gown, complete with floral shoulder details and a delicately belted waist with a jewelled brooch, we are already excited for the major fashion moments in the mysterious film. As we saw in The Queen's Gambit, Taylor-Joy's beauty choices are equally on point. For her latest role, she's sporting her icy blonde locks piled into a chic, retro up-do, paired with a matching dress and lipstick moment.

Although the images of Robbie are not as clear, one thing we know for sure is that the actor is trading her naturally blonde locks for dark brown tresses. From underneath a discreet black umbrella, Robbie's hair is styled in tight finger waves reminiscent of 40s style. Additional images have also emerged, showing the actor dressed in contrast to her co-star Taylor-Joy, in a black shirt, trousers and brown brogues.

Margot Robbie and Anya Taylor-Joy aren't the only Hollywood heavy-hitters spotted on set of David O. Russell's latest film. Robert de Niro – who happens to be a long-term collaborator of Russell – Rami Malek and Malcolm & Marie's John David Washington were also snapped.

Watch this space for the latest details on Robbie and Taylor-Joy's untitled film.
