While fashion month may now officially be over, there's still a lot of news making waves during the week. While we've been coveting the most popular bags of 2022 and unpacking frazzled English woman aesthetics, many collections have launched and exciting news concerning local talent abounds. Here, we round up the five fashion moments to know this week.

IMG announce 2022 Australian Fashion Laureate Finalists

IMG has announced the finalists in the 2022 Australian Fashion Laureate, honouring the exceptional talents of designers, creatives and leaders. The awards celebrate emerging and established designers, and those making an impact on our local industry. The categories include Designer of the Year, Emerging Designer of the Year, Sustainable Innovation, Indigenous Designer of the Year and the Carla Zampatti Award for Excellence in Leadership. Dinosaur Designs launch Play Collection 

Dinosaur Designs has this week launched its Play collection, a celebration of colour and form. A range of jewellery and homewares, it embodies a joyful sense of experimentation and explores the relationship between bright and more muted, earthy tones, the latter anchoring the collection. Two new hues are introduced to the brand, coming in Flamingo hot pink and earthy Desert, the pair working playfully with Leaf, Sky and Sandy Pearl, all colours those fans of the brand will be familiar with. 

 

Loewe x On Running Launch Drop 2

Loewe and On have come together to reimagine long-established craft skills, combining a focus on sustainability with a particular focus on employing handmade techniques to technical pieces. Made for the city life, the great outdoors collection features Loewe editions of iconic On pieces, including Cloudventure and Cloudrock performance shoes for both men and women. Available in five colourways including Gradient Khaki, Grey, Blue and Orange, the shoes feature the trademarked Mission grip rubber outsole and the Speedboard mid-sole hidden plate unique to the On brand. 

 

Paspaley Debuts the Wild Collection 

Jewellery brand Paspaley has released its latest collection, celebrating the allure of natural beauty. The Wild collection includes strands of pearls made entirely of Keshi pearls in irregular sizes, a considered choice to mirror the wild, and sourced from the Kimberley. Creative director Christine Salter said the collection is an ode to nature. 

“The Wild collection embodies the exhilaration of nature against your skin, like a swim in the ocean touched by sand, salt and sea, or an afternoon spent roaming free in the wilderness,” explains Paspaley creative director, Christine Salter. “But Wild isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling. Wild allows anyone, even the urban wearer, anywhere in the world, to feel connected to nature."

 

Dior Announces Designer of Dreams Exhibition in Tokyo 

Following the success of the exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams will be presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo. Having travelled across the glove from London, New York and in between, the exhibition will commence its stay at the museum from December 21, 2022, celebrating the sincere and singular ties between Dior and Japan. Accessories and haute couture models feature, including the Bar Suit and New Look silhouettes, with collections taking in work from Monsieur Dior himself to Yves Saint Laurent, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri.
