Abigayl Anderson is a vision in white on set for our ‘RUSSH Love’ supplement

The western allure of the traditional white wedding dress goes back as early as the late 1800s, popularised by several notable royal marriages (including the likes of Queen Victoria) that elevated the concept of a wedding ceremony from a domestic union to that of an affluent celebration of romance. Wedding dresses became symbolic, not only as we ascribed meaning to their hue, emblematic of purity and new beginnings, but also in that they became more than just a garment, elevated to the status of an heirloom: sacred and in need of preservation.

For our March Resilience issue's inaugural RUSSH Love supplement, model Abigayl Anderson, lensed by Mia Rankin, and styled by Charlotte Agnew, shows us how the humble white dress can be as ceremonial as it is transformative.
