Today is the day every person who has ever wanted to be Dolly Alderton’s best friend has been waiting for: Everything I Know About Love premieres in Australia tonight, bringing to life one of the most memorable memoirs to come from contemporary British literature. Here’s everything you need to know including where to watch and what we know so far of the series.
What will the TV series Everything I Know About Love be about?
The series is adapted from Alderton’s acclaimed memoir, following childhood friends Maggie and Birdy, serving as fictionalised versions of Alderton’s real life friendship with Farly Kleiner, a formidable best friend duo we expect to see explored as a central point of the adaptation’s plot, alongside a wider friend group. The series is set in 2012, with flashback to pre-teen years in the early 2000s peppered with honest and relatable testimony of what shaped them into the women they are.
Who has been cast in the series?
As announced in late 2021, Emma Appleton will star as Maggie, alongside Bel Powley in the role of Birdy.
Marli Siu, Jordan Peters, Aliyah Odoffin, Conor Finch and Ryan Bown also feature in the series rounding out a tight knit group of friends, as was dictated in Alderton’s memoir. The series is directed by China Moo-Young, alongside the author.
