Why everyone is obsessed with BODE (and where to buy it)

Why everyone is obsessed with BODE (and where to buy it)

The burgeoning fashion label BODE (pronounced Boh-dee), from New York designer Emily Adams Bode, was only founded in 2016, but has swiftly risen to the ranks of one of the most cool and covetable labels to shop – counting Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Kendall Jenner, Laura Harrier, Shalom Harlow and Camille Rowe as fans – so we're here to tell you where to buy it.

Bode's namesake label innovatively repurposes a myriad of vintage and dead-stock fabrics, using one-of-one textiles to fashion garments in classic, workwear silhouettes – from the humble trouser to classic oxford button-ups.

Before the brand even had their first anniversary, they were showing at Men's New York Fashion Week – Bode becoming the first female designer to to so.

BODE's allure is in its philosophy – a perfected and remarkable ability to transform rare and antiquated fabrics into apparel flecked with vintage, one-of-a-kind charm – whether those textiles are grain sacks, bed linens and quilts, or archaic tablecloths.

Dainty, floral embroideries have become a motif of the house, drawing inspiration from Bode's own childhood at antique markets, and treasured keepsakes from the South of France to Cape Cod. BODE's practice and aesthetics are a counterweight to a menswear landscape dominated by streetwear silhouettes.
