New York Fashion Week is in session for Fall 2023 which brings us ample opportunity for people-watching. As New Yorkers exit their homes to march about Manhattan, flitting from show to show, they're doing so in style – although, is this never not the case? When it comes to New York street style you can always count on the city's inhabitants to take the concept of winter layers and inject it with a slick edge, and effortlessly too. Nothing is too prim or too thought through, at least from the place I'm standing. So what are people wearing at NYFW for Fall 2023?
The best street style always has an element of surprise; when the masses are coated in shiny black leather, it's the beaten-up bomber that stands out from the crowd; when everyone is pushing for the most outrageous, viral street style moment, a white skirt suit and red lip goes down like sorbet. This holds true for the street style at NYFW Fall 2023. Most surprisingly of all, is for a city battling the final weeks of winter, colour is a dominant theme.
Fashion style icons like Karen Elson, Marc Jacobs and Alexa Chung have made an appearance. And will we ever be able to shake the hold models off-duty still iced-out in the last show's hair and makeup seem to have on us? Not anytime soon at the very least.
