A lesson in 1990s style from none other than Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar

She may have been a vampire slayer when portraying her now iconic character of Buffy, but we can also confirm Sarah Michelle Gellar is a certified style slayer, creator of iconic red carpet and street style moments. A-line skirts, bateau-neck shirts and tiny, tiny sunglasses, she tried it all, and wore it well.

Gellar dominated the 90s, one of the screen queens written into the folklore of the decade. Aside from Buffy, she also featured in a slew of iconic horror films including I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2. We also saw her take on the role of Daphne Blake in the Scooby Doo movies, a character with her own iconic wardrobe, as dutifully included below. Whether it was at premieres, onset or at a function or two, Gellar brought her A-game, embracing the trends of the decade that are now cycling back into the zeitgeist thanks to TikTok.

Much like Brendan Fraser, the Sarah Michelle Gellar renaissance is upon us – or should we say, Gellarsance – and her style is no exception. Take a trip down memory lane at some of her most iconic style moments.
