Jacquemus has just signalled the latest Instagram trend, releasing a collection of artfully curated ceramics

Simon Porte Jacquemus can do no wrong. Both on and off the runway, the French designer has achieved cult status – celebrated by fashion aficionados the world over for his covetable Le Chiquito bags, oversized sun hats and Mediterranean inspired designs.

Now, Jacquemus is back with yet another Instagram-worthy collection, this time, branching into the world of homewares with a range of new ceramics.

Collaborating with Greek ceramicist Daphne Leon, the pair have created a capsule collection of five pieces inspired by Jacquemus' signature handwriting; think sun, decadent Mediterranean dining and of course, colour. The collection coincides with the 50th anniversary celebration of luxury British retailer, Browns, who commissioned the duo to create a limited-edition range of decorative plates that feature some of the most memorable moments celebrated on the Jacquemus runway.

Unsurprisingly, it's impossible to choose a favourite. The collection of ceramics instantly transports us into the world of Simon Porte Jacquemus – one that is adorned with the lush nature of the Provence he grew up in, balanced with the aesthetic of sea and sun where he spends many of his days off. Notable pieces in the collection include a plate that incorporates the brand's iconic yellow Le Chiquito mini bag, and a playful iteration of the Jacquemus straw hat, reimagined.

This isn't the first time the formidable duo have joined forces. Jacquemus had previously enlisted Leon to design and create a series of dinnerware pieces that now cover the walls of his second restaurant venture, Oursin, which is located inside Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées in Paris. Unlike the fashion-led designs of Jacquemus and Leon's most recent collaboration, her creations for the restaurant feature carefully moulded peaches, anchovies, asparagus and muscles; ceramics that have been snapped and shared across social media as an homage to the Mediterranean paradise the venue represents.

The Jacquemus x Daphne Leon collection is available to shop exclusively at Browns now.
