Last year when the Coronavirus pandemic hit; many, if not all, of the concerts, tours and performances we were desperately looking forward to were placed on hold indefinitely. None, of course, were more important than the long-awaited Love On Tour, courtesy of our main guy, Harry Styles. After far too many months speculating over when we would see Styles hit the stage again; the Watermelon Sugar High singer officially kicked off his tour yesterday and the internet has responded accordingly.
Where better to start your world tour than in Las Vegas, naturally. Before the highly-anticipated show began; audience members were treated to a message from Styles himself, reminding everyone of the COVID-19 protocols in place. It's essentially the pandemic-era version of "please switch off your mobile phones, flash photography is prohibited throughout the film."
But at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the phones were out and flashing, because quite frankly, who in the world would want to miss a moment like this? Hundreds, if not thousands of videos and photos have since surfaced across Instagram and TikTok documenting some of the show's most memorable moments.
To give you a small taste of what went down, Styles not only performed tracks from his highly-celebrated 2019 album, Fine Line; but he also dipped into the archives from his self-titled 2017 debut album. The real treat however, was a solo performance of the One Direction smash-hit What Makes You Beautiful; which understandably, had everyone losing their minds.
Add in an all pink outfit, plenty of dancing and a rumoured spotting of none other than Olivia Wilde. It wouldn't be a stretch to call it a heavenly night.
Watching along halfway across the world in the middle of lockdown certainly had us feeling some type of way. Thank goodness for the internet, right?
