VEJA’s shoe repair shop in Paris and Samsung’s collab with Marimekko – here’s what you missed in fashion this week

It's been a big week in the RUSSH offices, as we hurtle toward the printing of our upcoming March issue (we can't wait for you to devour it very soon), and take note of the outpouring of fashion content flowing steadily from New York Fashion Week. Whether it was Beyonce showing up to Luar's front row (to support her nephew who was walking), or Thom Browne's Edgar Allan Poe-inspired theatrical show, there's been plenty to soak up.

Maggie Marilyn launch 'Where Wild Things Grow' collection

New Zealand label Maggie Marilyn have released their first collection for 2024, in the form of a capsule entitled Where Wild Things Grow. The capsule centres on powder blue and lemon yellow florals and basics – taking inspiration from Maggie's own Mother's beloved roses – as well as cashmere sweaters and rugby jerseys that reference her father's early style silhouettes.

The collection is available now on Maggie Marilyn's website and in stores.

 

Paris Georgia launch first-ever Spring Summer collection

Marking the brands first steps into an offering of four seasons per year, alongside two elemental collections, fellow New Zealand label Paris Georgia have released their first-ever Spring Summer collection this week. Photographed on location in Paris by Lola Banet, the collection puts forward a refined edit of adapted classics and moments of newness for spring. The brand's signature sculptural silhouettes are present, as well as their first denim offerings.

Marimekko and Samsung join forces for a limited-edition collaboration

Finish homewares and fashion brand Marimekko are bringing their iconic Unikko patterns to a range of Samsumg Galaxy phone accessories, including earbud cases, phone covers, and watch wristbands. Designed by Maija Isola, Unikko commemorates its 60th anniversary this year, and now more than 40 designs from the renowned Finnish fashion house are available as artwork for Samsung’s picture-frame TV, The Frame.

Jess Gomes fronts Cue's Autumn Winter 24 campaign

Cue's AW24 collection examines the brand's signature styles in a contemporary light, captured through the lens of Lewis Stevenson, and donned by Australian model Jessica Gomes. Pairing archival moments with eclectic modernity, the collection expresses the continuous evolution of Cue design DNA.

Christopher Esber launches Summer Capsule collection

Featuring model Zinnia Kumar, Australian designer Christopher Esber has released his summer capsule collection this week. The collection includes the return of a brand icon in the Venus Tank Dress in Lilac, whilst signature hardware anchors a plunging neckline on the Arched Palm Strapless Dress in an exclusive fresh Grapefruit colour way. Inspired by the interior design canon of Verner Panton, the capsule also highlights luxe rib silhouettes in contrasting palettes of rich chocolate and citrus tones.

VEJA opens a shoe repair 'General Store' in Paris

Sustainable sneaker brand VEJA have collaborated with Alors Studio to design and open the doors to their new 'General Store' in Paris this week, a space where skilled cobblers can breathe new life into sneakers and shoes, accompanied by a tailor dedicated to extending the lifespan of clothing – no matter the brand. Designed using a harmonious blend of wood, concrete, steel and glass in a minimalistic yet warm interior, sustainability takes precedence as the store operates entirely on renewable energy supplied by Enercoop.

Calvin Klein unveils the next chapter of its Spring 24 campaign

Shot by Mert Alas, longtime brand ambassador Kendall Jenner channels sophisticated, effortless sensuality in Calvin Klein’s Spring womenswear collection. The brand's new new Relaxed Trench Coat is the season's principla, with a soft draping silhouette and fluid fabrication designed for elevated styling, along with their Structured Stretch Blazer and matching Structured Stretch Wide Leg Trousers.
