BLACKPINK’s Rosé is releasing her solo debut album sooner than you think

BLACKPINK's Rosé

The BLACKPINK news is back, and this time, the K-Pop groups Rosé is expanding her legacy with the release of her debut solo album next week.

Back in January, Rosé debuted her first solo track live during BLACKPINK’s first virtual concert, alongside a teaser of a music video which saw the singer alone in a house, mourning the loss of her relationship. The track was titled GONE.

Now, she has taken to Instagram to share two teaser images from the imminent album. Thus far, no further details about the project have been revealed, including any information surrounding a name or tracklist. All we know is that it will be released March 12, 2021, and K-Pop stans will likely be losing their minds all week up until the release.

For those who are yet to familiarize themselves with the world of K-Pop (I know how you feel), Rosé, also known as Roseanne Park and Park Chae-young, began her career when she signed with South Korean management YG Entertainment following an audition in 2012. BLACKPINK officially debuted in 2016 with Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa. Rosé also featured on  G-Dragon’s “Without You” in 2012, meaning she is perfectly capable of independently striking out along when she is ready, which appears to be now.

To clarify, BLACKPINK as a group won't be going anywhere, back in 2018 after Jennie released her solo debut in 2018, YG Entertainment announced that each member of the four-person group will have to opportunity to receive a solo release. Lisa's solo debut is reportedly in the works, and Jisoo's will come at a later date after she finishes shooting for her acting gig on a K-drama series titled Snowdrop.
