Prepare your mind, Zoë Kravitz is making a film called ‘Pussy Island’ starring Channing Tatum

Zoë Kravitz Pussy Island

In case you thought life couldn't get any more sublime, actor and musician Zoë Kravitz has announced she will be making her directorial debut with a thriller entitled Pussy Island featuring Channing Tatum. What a duo!

While the queer in me wishes that the film title was slightly more on the nose (especially if it involves Kravitz), if you pick up what I'm putting down, it still seems like quite the ride indeed. Pussy Island follows a young Los Angeles cocktail waitress named Frida, who has her sights set on tech mogul Slater King, played by Tatum. When the waitress  finds her way into King’s inner circle, she is invited to attend an intimate gathering on his private island. Unfortunately for most female leads in thriller films, it's not nearly as idyllic as it all seems, and despite the beautiful location and wealthy people, Frida uncovers that the island is far more terrifying than expected. Spooky!

Kravitz penned the script alongside E.T. Feigenbaum, and she will serve as producer with Bruce Cohen of Bruce Cohen Productions, Tiffany Persons and the production companies Free Association and This Is Important. There are very few further details on Pussy Island thus far, and we're still waiting on talks of a release date, and details on the rest of the cast. Will Kravitz play Frida? Will she make a cameo at all? We hope for our own sake, yes.

Kravitz shared the news, which was originally announced by Variety, earlier today via her Instagram stories, but has not made any further comment on the production thus far. If you're dying to catch a glimpse of her before she debuts Pussy Island, Kravitz will next play Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated superhero film The Batman, alongside Robert Pattinson. As for Tatum, who we haven't seen on screen in a while, he is set to star in the upcoming film The Lost City of D alongside Sandra Bullock, the animated parody America: The Motion Picture and star and co-direct Dog with Reid Carolin.
