Contemporary romanticism – Zendaya is the new face of Valentino

Valentino Zendaya

Introducing Zendaya as the new face of Valentino.

The announcement comes today with new images of Zendaya styled in key looks from the House.

Zendaya's entrance into the world of Pierpaolo Piccioli and Valentino reinforces the codes of the brand - those of classic style and timeless elegance. The new partnership looks to create new connections between past, present and an imaginary future.

According to creative director of Valentino Pierpaolo Piccioli, the actress and icon is a natural fit for the House. She is an emblem of his idea of modern romanticism. Zendaya and Pierpaolo both share values of a new generation for fashion - those of spontaneity, personality and progression.

“The reason why we chose Zendaya as the new face for Valentino is because she perfectly embodies and represents what Valentino is and stands for, today. She is a powerful and fierce young woman that uses her talent and her work to express herself, her values and her generation as well,”  said Pierpaolo Piccioli.

“I am honoured to have been chosen as the face of Valentino. I’m so excited to begin this amazing collaboration with Pierpaolo and the entire Valentino family,” said Zendaya of the collaboration.

Zendaya is classically styled for the announcement. She wears a white sheath with a modern-take on the pussy-bow neckline as she holds one of the House's signature bags. In the next image, she's a modern-day vixen in black lace and matching black shoulder bag.

Piccioli’s creative process is about exploring visual poetry we see in our world reality. He creates pieces that allow for self-expression, not just for aspiration. So, Piccioli now working with modern muse Zendaya is an exciting pairing to be sure. We look so forward to seeing the new vision for the brand that will emerge from this contemporary collaboration.
