Rick Owens is teaming up with Converse for another round of goth sneakers

Rick Owens has been working hard to have our feet looking as goth and ghostly as ever. In the past couple of years, the designer has teamed up with Veja and Birkenstock, and he's even collaborated with Dr. Martens on a pair of satanic combat boots. But the partnership turning heads is one we've seen before. Rick Owens has joined forces with Converse once again adding two fresh iterations of the TURBODRK Chuck 70 to its DRKSHDW line.

If all the capitalised and vowelless words mean nothing to you, the TURBODRK style is an exaggerated take on Converse's popular throwback Chuck Taylor 70s All Star sandshoe. It has elongated tongues that reach above the ankle and where the Converse classic would normally have a rounded toe, both styles are chunky and square.

Where the recent offering differs to the prior Rick Owens x Converse drop is in the footwear's finish. Previously, they arrived with a matte canvas finish, whereas the new styles are leather and come with a glossy textured denim outer. The high-top is sleek and motor oil black while the low-top option comes in covered in chrome. In line with the Chuck 70, both sneakers have a slightly stacked footbed in an off-white colouring.

Where can you buy the new TURBODRK Chuck 70 styles?

So when can you get your hands on the new TURBODRK Chuck 70 styles from Rick Owens and Converse? You won't have to wait long, it's true. Mark your calendars for July 12, which is when the silver Chuck 70 Ox and black Chuck 70 Hi will drop on the Rick Owens and Converse websites, retailing for around $178 and $191 USD, respectively.
