The Peninsula. Why? Well, the online subscription to the New York Times during your stay. A proper office, each room has its own printer and more, perfect for our inner work geek and to print the ever-changing fashion week schedule. Technology - not what Paris is known for - but everything here is press of the button. The very best room service hot chocolate. That pool. And a roof top bar with a view of the Eiffel Tower that makes you want to come home at night rather than stay out.

Eat ...
Septime, because it gets better every time. Clamato, a neighbourhood seafood place in the 9th that just feels very local but where the produce and wines are the best the city has to offer. Caviar Kaspia always for the caviar potato and a chance to dress up, be fancy and dine at midnight. Jòia, a brand-new restaurant by michelin star chef Hélène Darroze. Have the mussels, actually have as much of the menu as you can and enjoy the champagne list which honours female winemakers. Always Chez Georges in the 2nd for classic Paris and a night cap at Bar Hemingway.

Do ...
The best time to enjoy Paris to yourself is for early morning walks. If I am staying Right Bank I walk to the Left Bank to Café de Flore for coffee, and vice versa, as I love this city at sunrise and when everyone is still in bed. The Tuileries are heavenly in Autumn for a place to sit and take it all in. I’m trying to explore new neighbourhoods and this time my fascination was with Montmartre which seems to be undergoing a transformation. And always Brancusi’s studio.

I’ve always admired the French for their practical and elegant way of dressing. Functional pieces with a special edge. The trench coat. Silk shirts. Lace underwear. Classic stilettos. And just add statement jewels for special occasions.
