Levi’s denim is getting the Miu Miu treatment in a new collaboration between the brands

Upcycled by Miu Miu

After it's appearance at Valentino's Spring Summer 2021 show, it would appear Levi's has a new Italian luxury collaborator, Miu Miu - who the brand has partnered with for Miu Miu's upcycling project on a collection of reworked vintage denim embellished with Miu Miu's signature touches.

Titled Upcycled by Miu Miu x Levi’s, the upcoming release is not only faced by our favourite angel Emma Corrin, alongside Kate Moss' daughter and model Gerogia Palmer, but includes 80s and 90s classic 501 jeans and signature trucker jackets that have been reimagined with glamour. Transformed into bejewelled pieces detailed with diamanté embroidery, crystals, and pearls. It's Miu Miu's world, and Levi's is just living in it!

“No two pieces in the collection are the same. Reimagined through the Miu Miu lens, the lives of garments worn and loved in the past are extended, refreshed — renewed,” the luxury brand said in a statement.

The initiative is one that champions the concept of upcycling, and what better brand to do so with than the brand most loved for it's vintage iterations, Levi's. When the luxury Italian House first launched its Upcycled by Miu Miu collection last fall, the brand released reworked 80s dresses from the archives as a nod to Miuccia Prada’s mission of promoting a more sustainable fashion industry.

“We are a company, with thousands of people working for us, we have to sell. We are not here to have fun. Creative people in fashion — we are not pure artists. We have to be responsible, because companies and enterprises should be responsible. There's a responsibility to your workers, about sustainability, about inclusivity. And not only responsible, but contributing to change.” she told the Financial Times earlier this year.

The Upcycled by Miu Miu collection in collaboration with Levi’s is coming to a store or platform near you  on May 24, 2021, and will be available online on Miu Miu’s website, select Miu Miu stores, and Dover Street Market Los Angeles.
