Tyler the Creator has designed a collection for Louis Vuitton

Along with Rihanna, Alexa Chung and Chloë Sevigny, Tyler the Creator is one of those famous people who has cultivated that rare thing known as personal style. Even more rare, is a chance to buy into his look. But that's exactly what Louis Vuitton and the musician are offering with their latest capsule collection.

It seems Harry Styles and Alessandro Michele were onto something when they teamed up for the Gucci HA HA HA capsule back in 2022. Now, Pharrell is looking to put his own spin on this formula, tapping his pal Tyler the Creator, who is well known for having great taste, to design a collection for the French Maison.

Announcing the collaboration on Instagram, Tyler the Creator said: "Hand drawn monograms, wavy soles, waffle and butter sandals, dogs, pastel colors, all that. I wanted to mix my style and Louis Vuitton's codes together in a way that felt slightly whimsical but could still be worn to the gas station on a Tuesday," he explained. "What an experience being in that office, imagination running wild. Have you seen that chessboard?"

A first glimpse of the collaboration reveals flight jackets, preppy blazers, bowling shirts, quilted coats, loafers, anoraks, and a whole range of luggage (including a briefcase) with a pastel Louis Vuitton monogram throughout. Naturally, there's plenty of hats and our bet is that the aviator cap and goggles will sell out immediately. The collection also contains nods to Tyler the Creator's pre-existing brands Golf Wang and Le Fleur, with a floral motif appearing on t-shirts and bag tags.

This is Tyler the Creator we're talking about and so there must be something unexpected on offer. Take, for example, a wonky chess set or what Louis Vuitton is calling the "craggy monogram" – the rapper's take on the House's signage.

Tyler the Creator established ties with Louis Vuitton long before Pharrell stepped onboard as creative director, collaborating with the House during Virgil Abloh's reign and even on the soundtrack of the first show post Abloh's death.

Safe to say, this collaboration will be met with a frenzied appetite. You can shop Louis Vuitton collection by Tyler Okonma from March 21.
