If you're a long-term RUSSH reader, you'll be very familiar with our adoration for Aussie talent. While our list of home-grown muses are endless; one in particular, Phoebe Tonkin, manages to masterfully capture our hearts and minds time and time again. Whether she's treating us to a luxurious offering of sustainable loungewear, courtesy of her brand LESJOUR! Or working her magic behind the scenes for her directorial debut; we simply can't get enough. Her latest project is Phoebe Tonkin as we know her best, starring alongside fellow Australian's Sam Worthington and Matt Nable for a new film titled Transfusion.
Yes, that's right. Our H20 star is heading back where it all started, in front of the screen. The film, which is set to premiere on streaming platform Stan, in 2022, officially commenced filming in Sydney late last week (so, keep an eye out Sydneysiders). From what we know so far, Transfusion has been pipped as a "muscular thriller", starring Worthington as Ryan Logan; a former Special Forces operative. While in the process of coping with life after his wife's passing; Logan is thrust into the criminal underworld to keep his only son from being taken from him.
Tonkin will star as Worthington's wife, Justine, in the film, with Nable, who is also directing and writing the Transfusion as Johnny. Speaking of the project, Nable said; "The opportunity to write, direct, and co-star alongside talent such as Sam and Phoebe is phenomenal."

It was only a few weeks ago that we learnt officially that Tonkin was back home on Australian soil. Though at the time, there was no confirmation on the reasoning behind her return; we now know it was to get the ball rolling on filming for her upcoming film.
Stay tuned for more updates as we wait to see Phoebe Tonkin star in Transfusion.
