Over his creative tenure, Pharrell Williams has worn many hats - creatively and figuratively. Straddling roles as visionary recording artist, producer, songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer and entrepreneur, there's nothing too out of ordinary for Williams. Last week, he made his inaugural debut into the world of jewellery, announcing a collection with Tiffany & Co.

'The Tiffany Titan' is inspired by the trident of the mythological god, Poseidon. The prongs summon energy, power and force. A forever motif of energy forces and power, the collection is a feat of proportion and balance in perfect symmetry. The structure of the piece is a unique one, with a soft curvature juxtaposed with a sharp spear design.

What's the inspiration behind the ubiquitous design?

Pharrell says, '“I’m very inspired by the water, and the name of this collection “Titan” draws inspiration from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis. Atlantis is also the name of the community I grew up in Virginia Beach. The detail in all of the jewellery pieces is very intentional, the use of black titanium…it’s a physical manifestation of beauty in blackness.”

 

With offerings in 18K yellow gold or titanium, metal and diamond iterations, this is a customisable piece that thwarts convention. The design is an inherent departure from traditional jewellery. This departure is a mastery of precision, and a commitment of the Maison's to prioritise craft and honour the wishes of each designer.

The Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collection is an assortment of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings all available in that colour-work. The trident remains a throughline with its sharp, grooved spikes across the collection. Additionally, the piece features an unconventional twist on traditional diamond settings. The pavé pieces are studded with reverse-set diamonds, which expose the diamond’s pavilion. This highlights the glittering brilliance of the design. The collection is unisex, and captures Pharrell's own punk dynamism and ingenue spirit.

When will the collection be available to purchase?

Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams will be available this May exclusively on Tiffany.com in the US. For in-person sales, head to The Landmark in New York City. The collection will be available globally at Tiffany & Co. stores and Tiffany.com in June. We'll be in touch when we get our hands on a pair on this side of the coast.
