It was hard to walk into a book store in 2019 without walking past some prominently positioned copies of Lisa Taddeo's book Three Women. The American author's debut non-fiction piece about the sexual and emotional lives of three different American women debuted at number one on The New York Times non-fiction best sellers list that year, and has since been (unsurprisingly) picked up for a television adaptation.

After hopping between a few different production studios, the series finally has a trailer with streaming service Stan, which you can watch in full below:

What is Three Women about?

It sounds like the television adaptation will largely follow the original book's plot, which is a win for existing fans of Taddeo's writing.

According to streaming service Stan's website, the show is about "Three American women from very different walks of life [who] take radical steps to explore their true desires, while struggling to emerge from a prison of expectations. A writer, grieving her own loss, persuades each of them to tell her their stories."

Is Three Women a true story?

Yes! Taddeo's book is a true story about the sex lives of three real American women, based on nearly a decade of her reporting.

Big Little Lies actress Shailene Woodley stars in the series as Gia, along with DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World: Dominion) as Sloane, Betty Gilpin (Gaslit) as Lina, Gabrielle Creevy as Maggie, Blair Underwood as Richard, Lola Kirke as Jenny, Blair Redord as Will and John Patrick Amedori as Jack.
