Once again, Tilda Swinton plays the role of an assassin in David Fincher’s forthcoming film ‘The Killer’

By now we're all well attuned to the fact that Tilda Swinton knows her way around a sword. After all, anyone that has dipped into The Dead Don't Die or even Narnia, for that matter, will have witnessed the surprising dexterity with which she severs zombie heads and wields a blade - Grimes could never! That's why Tilda's latest role as, lo and behold, an assassin in The Killer seems only fitting.

Helmed by David Fincher, who delivered us the suspenseful and gripping thrillers like Zodiac, Gone Girl and Seven, his latest film is set to be every bit as dystopic as it sounds. Based off of the 1998 French graphic novel series of the same name, The Killer trails an anonymous assassin, played by Michael Fassbender, as he completes assignments. According to Deadline, Fassbender's character begins to find himself having a "psychological crisis in a world with no moral compass".

At the moment, we're not quite sure how Tilda's character plays into the general plot line, although those who are familiar with Alexis Nolent’s graphic novels will surely be able to fill us in. If we know anything though, it's this; our eyes will be glued to Tilda throughout the film - sorry Michael.

As it stands, filming was initially slated to begin this spring in Paris, however as we understand it, production has been pushed back to next year. For those among us who would never miss an opportunity to watch a leather-clad Tilda Swinton take centre stage, The Killer will debut on Netflix as part of a deal Fincher made with the streaming platform.

In the meantime, while we wait for The Killer to arrive on our screens, it's not long until The French Dispatch with Tilda and Timothée hit our screens. Join us as we psyche ourselves up for what is likely to be one of the best films of 2021.
