Netflix’s new series, ‘An Astrological Guide For Broken Hearts’, is a realistic reminder of how dating and astrology collide

An Astrological Guide For Broken Hearts

It's no secret that astrology plays a serious role in our quest for love. It's almost impossible to avoid, and if we're honest, we're firm believers here at RUSSH that turning to the stars in times of strife – romantic or otherwise – can provide us with the answers we seek. While we might joke with our close friends about the astrological compatibility of a potential future lover, no-one has yet to bring the reality of these chats to the screen; until now. Netflix has once again jumped on the front foot, introducing its latest series, An Astrological Guide For Broken Hearts.

The new show is part of the latest string of Italian-language Netflix originals; which also includes Elena Ferrante's novel, The Lying Life of Adults. Based on the book of the same name, the series follows Alice, an extremely relatable 20-something Libra who is on the hunt for love – turning to the birth charts of possible suitors to guide her toward her most compatible companion. The underlying question, of course, how much of our trust can we truly put into the hands of the stars?

If you too have found yourself in a similar predicament, or are simply looking to tuck in to a hearty rom-com on your next movie night with friends, this series will have you hook, line and sinker. Below, everything we know so far about Netflix's upcoming astrologically-inspired hit.

What is An Astrological Guide For Broken Hearts about?

The upcoming series is based on Silvia Zucca's 2015 novel, and follows main character Alice; who finds herself heartbroken and hopelessly single. After befriending an astrology guru, he encourages her to shift her focus to the stars to track down her perfect match. Honestly, we've been saying this for years – the moment dating apps link up with Co-Star, the world will be a better place.

If you're wondering whether this will just be another lofty, loosely-inspired Zodiac tale, think again. The series has taken its research seriously; digging deep into birth/natal charts to inform the storyline. Of course, despite Alice's deeply considered – and astrologically-informed decisions – this doesn't make her exempt from experiencing her fair share of rubbish dates and awkward encounters along the way.

When will An Astrological Guide For Broken Hearts hit our screens and is there a trailer?

The new Netflix series will officially hit the streaming platform on October 27, which thankfully, isn't too far away. In the meantime, get acquainted with the characters and storyline, in the trailer below.
