Sofia Coppola’s daughter Romy has accidentally created TikTok high art

Romy Mars Coppola's viral TikTok video is accidentally high art.

So, by now those of us who are chronically online have almost definitely seen the viral video of Romy Mars Coppola – yes, Coppola as in that Coppola family – making its way across our social media feeds. The since-deleted TikTok video can honestly be likened to a piece of high art – 16-year-old Coppola opening with the line: "Make a vodka-sauce pasta with me because I’m grounded...because I tried to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland on my dad's credit card because I wanted to have dinner with my camp friend."

Coppola then goes on to state she doesn't know the difference between garlic and an onion, claiming she had to Google it, before cutting open a shallot. It's camp truly at its finest – and there's no shortage of irony in the fact that her mother, legendary filmmaker Sofia Coppola (of Somewhere, The Bling Ring and The Virgin Suicides fame), is celebrated for her movies about out-of-touch, privileged young women.

Coppola is one of filmmaker Sofia Coppola and Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars's two daughters, along with her younger sister Cosima. The sisters have been largely kept out of the spotlight up until now, Coppola even espousing later in her video that, "I thought I would do this while I'm already grounded, because my parents' biggest rule is like, I'm not allowed to have any public social media accounts. Here's why..." She cheekily poses for a 1-second shot with her father's Grammy award before quickly cutting back to a shot of her prepping the shallots.

So while we wait (potentially indefinitely) for part two of Coppola's Pasta Alla Vodka endeavours, we'll be trying to find out everything we can about the newest nepo kid on the block.

As for her mum, Sofia, she's currently working on a new Elvis film with Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi.
