Pieces of Her Netflix

We're quite partial to an excellent psychological thriller. Especially those which leave us constantly yearning for more – and, feature some impressive Australian talent. Case in point, national treasure Nicole Kidman in the hit-series The Undoing. Because our trusted streaming services know exactly what we want, it's no surprise that Karin Slaughter's novel, Pieces of Her, is making its way to Netflix.

With Toni Collette at the helm and an impressive lineup of female co-stars and creatives behind her, Pieces of Her is set to be the latest thriller series to keep us hanging. Below, here's everything we know about the show so far.

What is Pieces of Her about?

Based on the 2018 novel by bestselling American crime novelist, Karin Slaughter, Pieces of Her follows the story of Andrea Oliver as she comes face to face with a past her mother has tried to conceal. Andrea's journey begins after she is "caught in a deadly mass shooting at a local diner. Moments later, she witnesses her mother Laura, violently eliminating the threat with such ease." As per the show's official description; "As Andrea begins to unravel her mother's actions on that very day, her perspective on their entire familial relationship takes a new turn. Soon after, figures of her mother's past reappear and she is forced to escape. While on the journey, she attempts to piece together the remnants of truth that her mother buried long ago."

Who is confirmed to star in Pieces of Her?

Australian acting royalty, Toni Collette, has been cast as the series title character; Laura Oliver. Bella Heathcote, best known for her role in the 50 Shades of Gray franchise will play her daughter, Andrea. The eight-part series is littered with exemplary Australian talent, with actor David Wenham (Lord of the Rings) confirmed, as well as well-known international faces; Jessica Barden (The End of the F***ing World), Joe Dempsie (Skins), Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life) and Omari Hardwick (Power).

The series is also backed by an impressive team of female creatives including screenwriter Charlotte Stoudt; as well as executive producers Lesli Linka Glatter and Bruna Papandrea who you may remember from Big Little Lies and Gone Girl.

When will Pieces of Her air on Netflix?

There's no word as yet on when we can expect Pieces of Her to hit our Netflix screens. In late February, it was reported that the crew had begun filming on the New South Wales Central Coast. All things going to plan, we should have more confirmation on this highly-anticipated thriller soon.
