Jordan Peele has confirmed his latest film, ‘Nope’, and Daniel Kaluuya is on board as the leading man once again

Nope film

If like us, you're a long-term fan of the work of Jordan Peele, you would be part of the millions of people waiting eagerly for the news of a new film or project. It's been a long time between drinks; and Peele's last instalment Us, in 2019, was a cracker follow-up to his debut 2019, film, Get Out. The question on everyone's lips of course, what would Peele do next? After far too much anticipation, we finally have our answer. Peele is back with another thrilling film, this time, titled, Nope.

The critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning director is back to scare us shitless again, and honestly, we wouldn't expect anything less. The poster for the film is enough to leave you intrigued. A storm cloud with what appears to be a trailing kite caught in the middle? It's a big fat Nope for me (see what I did there?)

As tends to be the case with most of Peele's projects, much of the details are still being tightly held in a cloud of mystery. But, there are still a few key details that we do know about his upcoming film, Nope, and we're sharing them all below.

What is Nope about?

Unfortunately, this is one of the key details that we're still being kept in the dark about. Though, one thing is for sure, the overbearing looming and presence of a physical or likely metaphorical cloud is definitely ominous. If we've learnt anything from Peele's past films; there will definitely be a major twist that no one will see coming. Right now, the plot is entirely up to interpretation.

Who has been cast in Nope?

Surprisingly, a few of the cast members for Nope have already been confirmed, thanks to the film's poster. Arguably, the most exciting news is that Peele will be reuniting with Get Out's breakout star, Daniel Kaluuya, who seems to also have a leading role in this film. The actor earned his first Oscar for Peele's 2017 film; and also won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor this year for his performance as Fred Hampton in Judas and the Black Messiah.

Joining him is Keke Palmer, who is presumed to star as the film's female lead. There have been some rumours to suggest that she would play Nope's antagonist, though nothing has been confirmed as yet.

The final additions to the main cast that we know so far are Steven Yeun; another recent Oscar nominee known for his performance in Minari, as well as Barbie Ferreira and Brandon Perea who were confirmed over the weekend.

Is there a release date yet?

According to the poster that Peele shared on social media, the release date for Nope has been set for July 22, 2021. Though, there is yet to be a trailer release or any word on whether you'll be able to watch the film on any streaming platforms.
