Who could forget the iconic duo of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the original 2005 Mr. and Mrs. Smith film? It's a cinematic duo that's hard to beat, but if there's anyone who could attempt such a feat we think it would be Donald Glover and Maya Erskine. Glover, who co-wrote and produced the series as well, has a knack for well, just about everything it seems, and has already produced some of the best television shows of the last few years – from the award-winning Atlanta to his latest thriller series Swarm. And who couldn't love him in his breakout Community role?

Who is in the Mr. and Mrs. Smith reboot cast?
Originally, Fleabag and Killing Eve creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge was a writer, producer and co-star on the show, but she recently parted ways
Taking over from Waller-Bridge in the Jolie-counterpart to Glover's Pitt is American actress and writer Maya Erskine (probably best known for writing and starring in her dramady show PEN15 on Hulu). Speaking about the shoes she had to fill, Erskine said in an interview that: "A lot of people would say that I'm just like Angelina Jolie and that we're really similar. No, I'm kidding. I obviously couldn't be further from her. I tend to play characters that feel like rejects of society, and my Jane felt like it was the reject version of Angelina Jolie. It wouldn't ever be her. It could never be."
Elsewhere the cast list is pretty stacked. The show is one of only two projects that Michaela Coel has signed onto since her hit series I May Destroy You, and has also recruited 90s 'Queen of the Indies' Parker Posey – who was just listed as one of the newest guests of The White Lotus season three.
Paul Dano, John Turturro, Alexander Skarsgård, Eiza González, Sarah Paulson, Wagner Moura, Sharon Horgan, Ron Perlman, Billy Campbell and Úrsula Corberó have also joined the cast.
When will it be released?
All eight episodes of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith TV series will premiere on Amazon's Prime Video on 2 February 2024.
