Boy, has it been quite the month for "quiet luxury"! The term swept the internet earlier this year, in line with the fourth and final season of Succession, which broke our hearts, but catalysed a new (and I use "new" lightly here) trend for us to fixate on and mend our yearning hearts for the Roy family antics. Naturally, quiet luxury is not so much a tangible trend as it is a state of mind, and one that many people have been existing in the realm of, for decades. It's almost like we've been begging people for years to invest in quality items that are not trend driven and will last more than one season! I digress.
Thanks to some high profile style icons, it feels as though the idea of the capsule wardrobe has really taken for the time being, and winter is no better a time to stick to what you know best. In honour of this, this months luxury fashion favourites round up is focussing on the pieces that make us feel best. There was a moment last month when I put on my favourite pair of denim jeans, a white t shirt, and a bomber jacket and looked at myself in the mirror and felt very grounded in the fact that this would probably be an outfit that I would feel my best in forever. For me, this has always been what a capsule wardrobe is about – pieces that can be worn over and over again not just because they are good quality, but because they make you feel like you.
With that in mind, this edit is quite biased towards those things that personally work in my wardrobe, but also includes things that I feel we should all own. There is a perfect white tank from Saint Laurent, two timeless black leather bags, one from Gucci and one from Mulberry; there are Mary Janes and men's bombers from Celine, indulgent cashmere socks from The Row, and Bottega Veneta leather 'jeans' that one can only dream about. Below, are our June luxury fashion favourites.
