While it won't be a movie, Elle is the prequel TV series to Legally Blonde that will show us Elle Woods' early life and experiences that shaped her to the Harvard Law student that we know and love.

Season two is already greenlit
We haven't even had a peek at season one yet, and a Season 2 has officially been greenlit by Prime Video – already! Surely, this is a good sign that the production studio is loving these first few episodes.
Witherspoon herself announced the second season on her Instagram earlier today, with a caption that read: "Thrilled to announce that ELLE is coming to @PrimeVideo July 1 – and Season 2 is already in the works! 💖✨🎬 No better way to celebrate 25 years of Legally Blonde!"

Who is playing young Elle Woods?
After an extensive open casting call for the young version of Elle Woods. Reese Witherspoon casted young Elle as actress Lexi Minetree.
Witherspoon again took to Instagram to share the sweet moment Minetree was cast, writing, "Allow me to introduce you to the new Elle Woods! After watching so many incredible auditions [...] we finally found our Elle. And today, I got to break the news myself!"
We have to say, the resemblance really is uncanny...

What will season one be about?
So far, we know that season one of the series will follow a young Elle Woods' high school journey – and the experiences that made her the Harvard Law School alum we know and love so well.
Witherspoon herself stated that: "fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do. What could be better than that?".

Will we still get a Legally Blonde 3?
Yes, while we have been graced with a prequel, Reese Witherspoon will be returning as Elle Woods in a Legally Blonde 3. Mindy Kaling and Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator Dan Goor have written the script. There is still little known about the film, however, stay tuned for updates on the third film.
