Julia Fox has finally revealed her self-proclaimed “masterpiece” memoir ‘Down The Drain’

Julia Fox's first book, memoir 'Down the Drain'.

Multi-hyphenate Julia Fox has decided it was about time to add a new title – that of 'author' – to her already long list of creative disciplines. The 33-year-old New York actress and model teased the front and back covers of her first book on Instagram this week, a memoir entitled Down The Drain.

The book has been hotly anticipated ever since a clip of Fox went viral from last year's Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where she told Variety that she didn't “want to give too much of it away" due to her superstitious nature, “But it’s so far a masterpiece, if I do say so myself.”

Her publishing house Simon & Schuster seem to share the same sentiment, stating in the book's pre-order blurb that "Down the Drain is a true literary achievement, as one-of-a-kind as its author."

What do we know so far about the book?

According to publishing house Simon & Schuster, Fox's memoir "chronicles her shocking life and unyielding determination to not only survive but achieve her dreams." You might think there's not a lot to cover at the tender age of 33, but we're expecting to read about Fox being cast in her breakout film role in the Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems, her infamously public and short-lived relationship with billionaire rapper Kanye West (whom she only references as 'The Artist' in the book), and more recently her whirlwind ascension to internet fame and to the status of an unwitting icon of fashion.

Fox also assures us she wrote "every single word in this book", which is frankly unsurprising given she's practically the industry's poster child for an unabashed commitment to authenticity.

When will it be released?

You can get your hands on Fox's self-proclaimed masterpiece at bookstores from October this year. But if you simply can't wait, you can at least secure your copy by pre-ordering the book on Simon & Schuster's website.
