Jess Gomes’ photo diary from Valentino’s Sydney Flagship unveiling

Jess Gomes Valentino

At the end of last year, Valentino opened the doors to its first luxury flagship in South-East Asia. They launched the store in tandem with the brand's Party collection, which featured some of Pierpaolo Piccioli's signature ready-to-wear silhouettes and bold colours, embellished with rhinestones, studs, sequins and embroidery to invite guests in with an air of excitement.

Last night, Guests and friends of the House of Valentino were invited to experience the store in all its glory, and celebrate the party collection the right way: with a party. Friend of RUSSH and Valentino, Jess Gomes, was amongst those invited to celebrate the opening of the flagship, which took place at the newly built Martin Place store, spanning two levels of men's and women's ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories.

Guests were then transported by bus to a warehouse location where they were encouraged to keep the party going under the gel lights and thumping music. Gomes, who was dressed by the brand, shares her getting ready process for the party with RUSSH, lensed by Duc Thinh Dong, below.

"I have always loved this Valentino nude. It can sometimes be a tricky colour but I’ve been in so much black lately, and given we are at the end of summer, I just wanted to embrace my healthy glow. I love the way the bodysuit sculpted my body and allowed for something more voluminous and theatrical on the bottom." Gomes tells us on her look.

"I did my own hair and makeup, which I actually love doing." She continues, on her beauty look of choice. "For those who didn’t live through yesterday, it was 37 degrees so a very minimal base was a must. I always look to accentuate my cheek bones wherever possible, and this time I opted for a slightly deeper lip. Hair pulled back in tight bun for elegance."
