A capsule collection that embodies the raw energy and essence of Australiana, the Gabrielle Penfold x SIR. Capsule is a unique reimagining of the fashion label's Spring Summer 21 collection.

 

SIR. Spring Summer 21’ explores a woman’s interaction with her internal and external world. Materials seen and found in nature and objects in everyday life are translated into a sartorial experience for the modern woman. As an extension of this sentiment, SIR. collaborated with Sydney based Artist and and friend of RUSSH Gabrielle Penfold.

Gabrielle's art speaks to the material world, but firmly grounds itself in nature. The motifs inspired by flora and fauna further realise the notion of Australian high-summer. A collaborative artwork between Gabrielle and SIR. was used and printed on the latest ready-to-wear capsule. A series of sustainable pieces, ones made with care from considered materials, it is a capsule designed for longevity. A collection to cherish as an artwork in itself.

 

 

Gabrielle's own vision of high-summer is seen in the motifs of a rising sun, lemons, figs and abstract lines. All of which were painted on canvas with oil paint and, later reworked onto a textiles to form a 12-piece capsule of apparel and accessories. The pieces are crafted in a considered way, with a linen blend and  featuring buttons made from recycled cotton.

SIR.'s choice of sustainable materials marks a new normal for the brand. The label works with its makers to source consciously-minded materials that are used to create collections that are quintessentially and timelessly SIR.. It is an ever evolving new chapter, one anchored in transparency and inclusivity.
