Chanel Coco Beach 2022 collection campaign

favourite fashion moments

Chanel has unveiled their Chanel Coco Beach 2022 campaign as a tribute to Gabrielle Chanel's love of the sea, the sun and the great outdoors. Starring Margaret Qualley lensed by Lachlan Bailey, this vision, once Karl Lagerfeld's, is now celebrated and reinvented by Virginie Viard: “To me, this collection is so fun because it represents summer, vacation and freedom,” Says Qualley.

“The pieces in this collection are at once fantastically luxurious and easy going, a seemingly impossible feat, but not in the hands of Virginie Viard!”

“This shoot was so fun for me. For the last shot, Lachlan Bailey wanted me to jump in the very cold water. It woke me right up! It was one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen.” She said of the experience.

The Chanel Coco Beach 2022 collection will be available in a selection of Chanel boutiques from mid-June.

Valentino launches Rosso Valentino

favourite fashion moments

Maison Valentino has released a new coffee table book, Rosso Valentino, an essential chapter of the narrative of the Maison, a synonym of its glorious history and of its aesthetic identity. The research of the connection between then and now, brought to the creation of a masterpiece Haute Couture book, Rosso, a unique opera that explores the personality of the iconic Rosso Valentino through the decades, entirely handmade in the Valentino Atelier. It is a study within the Maison’s renowned colour: the most powerful, recognizable, and recognized symbol that took the name of its creator in 1985.

"This book it’s not a retrospective, not a celebration and it’s not even a didactic guide. It’s simply the way we work. Valentino Archive is an alive and pulsing ecosystem in which all of our treasures are ready to tell their own stories when interrogated. This time we wanted to know how many red dresses we have, how present Rosso Valentino is in all of our creations. So this book, maybe, is an answer to that question, or the beginning of something more. What is sure is that none of that could have ever been possible without the incomparable genius of Mr Valentino himself and without the work, the dedication, the perseverance and the talent of every single seamstress and tailor that transformed our ideas into reality.” Pierpaolo Piccioli said of the book.

The next instalment of Balenciaga’s multi-phase campaign has been released. Photo and video portraits, as well as still life snapshots feature friends of the brand with a selection of its iconic products. The campaign features the Balenciaga BB Monogram pattern, which is a modern take on an archival print, first seen on pieces from Balenciaga’s 1990s collections.

The updated graphic design interlaces a horizontally stretched double-B logo with a set of diagonal stripes, creating a repeating monogram. The new line is introduced as a textured pattern on coated canvas and denim products.

Maggie Marilyn offers new Home Away From Home in New Zealand

For two weeks only, Maggie Marilyn invites South Island locals and visitors alike to spend time in their first Home Away From Home, tucked away in the snow-capped mountains of Wānaka.

Maggie Marilyn's bricks-and-mortar Homes have always been an important part of the brand's DNA. In an increasingly online world, it is the offline experiences with customers that MM cherish most, and over the past two years their Homes have allowed the brand to further strengthen these relationships in-person.

The Maggie Marilyn Newmarket Home is an extension of the MM workroom; where customers can see their makers in action and connect with the craft and care that goes into each garment. The Britomart Home was designed to serve as a sanctuary in the city; an escape from the noise and an opportunity to shop without urgency or distraction.

Maggie Marilyn’s Home Away From Home will be the ultimate respite from the winter elements; an inviting space to try on clothes, sip hot coffee or mulled wine, and rest your legs after a long day of exploring the things that make the South Island one of the most beautiful destinations on earth.
