Dior takes on the coveted ‘dad’ sneaker, with the release of the B30

Dior B30 sneaker

There's no denying the absolute chokehold street style has on the fashion world. Even when the occasion calls for more formal attire, it's not uncommon to find a coveted sneaker in the mix. Of course, it comes as no surprise then that luxury fashion has placed themselves firmly at the forefront of the movement; taking signature House codes and transforming them for a generation that thrives on a more casual aesthetic. Kim Jones is one of the many designers who are thriving in this space; and his latest release for Dior, the B30, is yet another reminder that sneaker culture is not going anywhere soon.

First debuted as part of the resort 2022 collection back in May, the B30 is an elevated, premium homage to the 'dad' sneaker. Equal parts chunky with a touch of sophistication (it wouldn't be Dior without it, of course); this rework of the humble running shoe is for street-style aficionados who understand the need for form and function.

The Dior B30 sneaker is available in a range of five different colourways, including white, black, lime, olive and beige – one for each weekday, if you so please. Each sneaker features a classic mesh base with leather overlays on the forefoot, midfoot, eyestays and heel alike. Making reference to the savoir-faire of a traditional running sneaker; Dior has ensured to maintain the technical integrity of the shoe by pairing the mesh with microfibre materials to offer flexibility and lightness.

It wouldn't be Dior without a subtle nod to the House's iconic logo, placed alongside the quarter panel of the sneaker. The kind of touch that admirers of the brand will appreciate, while still embodying the paired back ease of streetwear.

The Dior B30 sneaker will be available to shop in store and online in Australia from October 14. To discover more about the latest release, watch the video below.
