In our 'Forbidden' issue, Christian Dior pays tribute to tradition

The House of Dior has long been a tireless gospeler of folk iconography and artisanship. Since Christian Dior's own first journey to Mexico in 1954, the ideas of heritage and tradition have enthralled and inspired their designs – spotlighting female crafters and local artists on a global stage. The Maison's Cruise 24 collection is a more explicit homage to their fascination with the North American metropolis that is Mexico City, tapping the shoulder of Oaxacan weavers to decorate seasonal womenswear garments, and taking cues from traditional Mexican dresses with floral embroidery, butterfly motifs and patchwork-like detailing.

For the pages of our November 'Forbidden' issue, model Charlee Fraser demonstrates the softness and detail of the collection – as photographed by Sam Armstrong and styled by Hannah Cooper.
