The Cartier Maison is distinguishable by many things. Its instantly recognisable red boxes; an unmistakable dedication to craftsmanship; the deeply personal touch of every experience. But above all, the luxury jewellery Maison is known for its icons. Collections, pieces and stories that have left an impressionable mark on the people who have had the pleasure to learn and form a connection to the history and magic that is at the root of the collections. Here in Sydney, Cartier is paying homage to the icons that have helped build the foundations of the Maison, with a new pop up space, titled The Culture of Design; a celebration of unmatched creation through an immersive experience.

Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD at the former Cartier boutique of 74 Castlereagh Street, the space has been entirely reimagined to create a minimalistic space – cocooned by bright white walls and mirrored and gold detailing – allowing the iconic collections to shine.

As evidenced in the naming of the space, at the root of all Cartier creations is a deep respect and honouring of design and design principles. It is a pillar that has not only guided the Maison through its 176 year-old history, but has enabled the enduring and timeless nature of its creations; fostering an admiration that continues to be felt almost two centuries later.

Inside the pop up, the Tank, Trinity, Juste un Clou, Santos de Cartier, Love, Panthère and Ballon Bleu collections take the spotlight, representing the Maison's four main principles of creation: the purity of the line, the accuracy of the shape, the precision of proportions, the precious details. Presented in immersive exhibition form, each recognisable collection is presented with a detailing of its unique history, allowing visitors to engage in the history of design – both in the jewellery and watchmaking space.

“Cartier is a pioneering house, in constant creative exploration. The Culture of Design demonstrates the Maison’s ability to create designs that stand the test of time, objects that are at once immediately recognisable and bear witness to the past,” shared Alban du Mesnil, Cartier Oceania Managing Director. “With this new pop up, we celebrate a unique collection of creations that have earned a place in the history of jewellery and watchmaking, and in the hearts of our clients.”

Cartier's The Culture of Design pop up is open now, offering a unique retail experience, personalisation offerings, a private salon and delivery services until June 2023. Discover more about The Culture of Design on the Cartier website and experience the immersive space now.
