Emily Algar is a journalist, creator and the Beauty Editor at ‘RUSSH’, lending her voice to its print, digital and social platforms. Emily graduated from Newcastle University with a Communication degree majoring in Journalism and Public Relations, interning at Beauticate and Pacific Magazines before moving into editorial roles at Byrdie, Vogue, Grazia and Harper's BAZAAR. She has also worked extensively as a freelance journalist for publications including The Age and Sydney Morning Herald, as well as consulting at a creative agency, The Content Works, where she was the account lead for beauty clients including the L'Oreal group. Emily has also worked as a contracted copywriter for Mecca, including signage and store copy for the Melbourne flagship. Parallel to this, Emily has built a dedicated social following and regularly works with brands on content creation. Most recently, she launched a best-selling beauty-focused Substack, The Rich Creme. Emily's approach to beauty is intimate and personable, driven by her love of sharing and story-telling. When she’s not writing or filming, Emily loves reading, swimming, cooking and practicing Pilates.
