It's an Anne-naissance if we've ever seen one! After showing up and very truly showing out at Cannes film festival last month, there has been one legendary brunette actress on our mind and one legendary brunette actress only. At one point, she was the princess of 2000s chick flicks like the unforgettable Mia Thermopoulis in Princess Diaries and everyone's favourite Andy Sachs in fashion's favourite Devil Wears Prada, before being plunged into a sudden spiral of vitriol, becoming an actress that the public loved to hate after a chaotic and probably too earnest Oscars acceptance speech and the Prada dress she decided to wear on the night.
But we're not paying any attention to the "Hathahate", especially not in 2022! There are many reasons why the public have turned their ruthlessly judgemental noses up at the actor over the years, too earnest, too perfect, a rom-com queen (who knew that could be a bad thing), but her style has never been one of them (except for, again, that weirdly inflammatory Prada dress), and through it all, she has eclipsed the judgement to assume her rightful place as a fashion favourite. Below, we round up some of Anne Hathaway's most iconic looks on and off the screen.
