‘A Quiet Place’ spinoff is headed our way

A Quiet Place: Day One

Looks like the Quiet Place universe is set to expand once again, with the news that Lupita Nyong'o is in "final negotiations" to star in a spinoff of the horror film, titled A Quiet Place: Day One, according to Deadline.

The film will be helmed by Pig director Michael Sarnoski, and is set to release on March 8, 2024. Day One will be based on an idea from John Krasinski, who directed and starred in the first two films, alongside his wife, Emily Blunt. It seems as though the film will be set up to create a Quiet Place universe that the studio can build on for years, like a very creepy version of Marvel – Nyong'o is set to make her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, this month.

Aside from the news that it is unlikely for Krasinski and Blunt to reprise their roles in the spinoff, further information on the production has not yet been released.

The original franchise is currently working on the third film, which will reportedly release in 2025, where Krasinsky will return to direct. For A Quiet Place: Day One, Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce via Platinum Dunes alongside Krasinski via his Sunday Night banner with partner Allyson Seeger, who serves as executive producer.

Nyong'o is currently on the press trail for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is set to release in cinemas on November 11, 2022. The 12 Years a Slave Oscar winner has been turning out some heavenly press looks, including moments from Prada, Alexander McQueen, Proenza Schouler, and New Zealand's own Maggie Marilyn. Check out some of her best looks, below, and stay tuned for updates on the production of A Quiet Place: Day One, here.
