Why is everyone talking about Emma Corrin’s new murder mystery show?

Why is everyone talking about 'A Murder at the End of the World'?

If you love The Crown star and Miu Miu muse Emma Corrin as much as we do, you're likely to watch just about any film or television project she's in just because... well it's Emma Corrin, so why wouldn't we? But her latest project – a murder mystery series called A Murder at the End of the World – is exciting for more reasons than Corrin's starring role.

From the creative minds behind the Netflix cult favourite TV show The OA – Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij – this new limited series from FX is about a lot of things, among them: true crime, climate change, AI, capitalism, and Reddit sleuthing.

Like its predecessor, it's a pretty meaty series that aims to break out of the (frankly, pretty tired) mould of 'murder mystery' to take on a more experimental approach to storytelling; blending genres and shifting forms.

What is A Murder at the End of the World about?

The show follows our protagonist (Corrin), an amateur sleuth and hacker who is asked by a reclusive tech billionaire to come to his Icelandic compound to join a motley crew of geniuses for a symposium on the future of humanity. And of course, it wouldn't be a murder mystery without a mysterious death upon arrival.

Who is cast in A Murder at the End of the World?

Aside from Corrin, the show stars Harris Dickinson (Triangle of Sadness)Clive Owen (Children of Men), alongside Britian Seibert, Alice Braga, Raul Esparza and Louis Cancelmi (Killers of the Flower Moon).

Of course, show runner Brit Marling also gets in front of the camera once again as a prolific hacker now married to the reclusive tech billionaire.

When and where can I watch the show?

The limited series is available to stream now via Disney+ in Australia.
