Zendaya single-handedly saved Coachella

Most of us managed to dodge any Coachella 2023 fomo following the announcement that Frank Ocean had pulled out of the festival's second weekend. Unfortunately, it didn't last long. In news that will make you sick to your core, Labrinth brought Zendaya out during his set for a duet of I'm Tired, which was written for the second season of Euphoria, and All For Us, which appeared on the first. And if like me, you were not in Indio this weekend, I'm sending thoughts and prayers.

Several years ago, Zendaya made the decision to step away from music to focus on acting, a move which has largely paid off given she since won two Emmys for her role as Rue Bennett in Euphoria. But this also means the last time the actor performed publicly on stage was in 2015, making her appearance at Coachella the first concert she's played in seven years.

Zendaya stepped onstage stage wearing a baby pink leather Roberto Cavalli 2004 mini dress, secured from Aralda vintage, worn over a ribbed white tank with black thigh-high laced up boots from Christian Louboutin. The outfit was a reference to a mauve corset her character Rue wore in season 2 of Euphoria

Directly after her performance, Zendaya thanked Labrinth for bringing her out to Coachella via her Instagram stories, writing, "Thank you to my brother Labrinth for inviting me and giving me the most beautiful safe space to be on a stage again. And to the crowd tonight… wow… my heart is so full."

Understandably, the surprise performance had the internet – and those at Coachella – gagged, sparking a whole host of commentary on Twitter. Below, we bring you some of our favourite internet reactions to Zendaya at Coachella.
