This year's Venice Film Festival has brought us many things, from fashion to cinema — but perhaps most excitingly, it's provided the platform for one long-awaited hard launch. The couple in question? Actor Lewis Pullman, and model Kaia Gerber. After months of speculation, the couple arrived to the floating city arm-in-arm, with onlookers catching several sweet moments of PDA on their first few low key outings. Then came their official debut, with Gerber accompanying Pullman to the premiere of his latest film, The Testament of Ann Lee, wearing Givenchy and Saint Laurent respectively.

So, who is the actor who has stolen Gerber's heart? All your questions about Lewis Pullman, answered below.

He's the son of another great actor

It seems performing runs in the Pullman family. Lewis is the son of actor Bill Pullman (who is best known for films like Independence Day and While You Were Sleeping, and contemporary dancer and choreographer Tamara Hurwitz.

Despite his creative roots, Lewis was brought up away from the entertainment industry, and didn't have his first on-screen credit until 2015, when he was 23.

He has a degree in social work

Having attended high school in Los Angeles, Pullman went on to study a bachelor of social work at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pullman shared that he took a job working on the tractor division whiole studying. "I figured if acting didn't work out I could be on the road crew, working the back hoe."

His first role was in the television series, Highston

During his studies, Pullman reportedly spent holiday breaks working on short films. Then, soon after he graduated, he was asked by the parents of a high school friend (who happened to be Valerie Faris and Jonathan DAyton, i.e. the filmmakers behind Little Miss Sunshine) to audition for the Amazon series, Highston. The series was only ever realised as a single pilot episode, but it was enough to propel Pullman to bigger things.

You probably recognise him from Lessons in Chemistry and Top Gun: Maverick

Now 32, Pullman has an impressive filmography. He starred alongside Brie Larson in the Apple TV+ adaptation of Lessons in Chemistry, and played Bob in Top Gun: Maverick. He's also appeared in hits like Thunderbolts (he will reprise his role as Robert Reynolds in Avengers: Doomsday in 2026), and the romantic drama Press Play. Coming up, he's set to appear opposite Maya Hawke (and Jake Shane) in Wishful Thinking, and alongside Sally Field in the film adaptation of Remarkably Bright Creatures.

He's also a drummer

If his upcoming schedule wasn't enough to keep him busy, Pullman also plays the drums in the band Atta Boy alongside Eden Brolin, Freddy Reish, and Dashel Thompson. The foursome released their first album, Out Of Sorts, in 2012, and followed it up with Big Heart Manners in 2020.

He works with celebrity stylist Warren Alfie Baker

We love a man with great taste, and between them, Pullman and Baker have pulled out some very good looks. We're reliving our favourites, below.
