apple tv shows

To absolutely no one's surprise, the world is currently firmly in the grips of Severance. In fact, the long-awaited second season has seen a 126% increase in new sign-ups to Apple TV+ in January 2025 alone, with just about everyone making an account to witness the eery goings on at Lumon Industries.

If you fall into this category, you might be wondering how to make the most out of your Apple TV+ subscription on the six days each week where we're not treated to a new Severance episode. Luckily, we've got just the solution, and there's plenty more binge-worthy  series also making a home on the streamer. Below, plan your next couch rotting session with our pick of the best  television shows currently available on Apple TV+.

1. Disclaimer

For a watching experience that will make you think, look no further. This limited series was adapted from Renée Knight’s 2015 novel of the same name, and recounts the story of Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate Blanchett), a respected journalist and mother in London. However, when a novel shows up at her home telling a semi fictionalised story of her extra-marital encounter with a young man (Louis Partridge) decades ago, her life as she knows it is entirely upended. What follows is a twist you'll never predict, and each episode is guaranteed to keep you on your toes.

2. Morning Wars

If you've somehow managed to miss the hype of this hit series, allow us to catch you up. Starring Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carrell, Morning Wars (or The Morning Show, as it's known in other parts of the world) charts the scandal-ridden world of American breakfast television. You'd be forgiven for mistaking the drama that unfolds as fact, rather than fiction, but that's just because each episode is so expertly crafted. Even better, there's a fourth season in the not-so-distant future.

3. Pachinko

This epic series follows a Korean immigrant family across four generations, as they immigrate from Korea to Japan at the beginning of the 20th century, and later to America in the 1980s. The story is based on the New York Times best-selling novel by the same name, and will have you experiencing just about every emotion as you make your way through each episode.

4. Shrinking

We might view therapists as the kinds of people who perennially have it together, but is that always the case? This heartwarming series tells the story of Jimmy (Jason Segal), a therapist dealing with the wake of his wife's death. From navigating new romance, to raising his teenage daughter, this watch is equal-parts moving, hilarious, and chaotic. Rounding out the cast is Harrison Ford as Jimmy's boss, Christa Miller as his well-meaning neighbour, and Gaby as his therapist colleague. We challenge you not to binge the first two seasons in a day.

5. Silo

Just as the name suggests, this show imagines a dystopian future where thousands live in a giant silo, buried deep underground. In order to survive and continue the future of humanity against the toxic, ruined world that lies above them, the inhabitants must stick to strict regulations — which they believe are in place to protect them. But as you can probably gather, not everything is as it seems in Silo.

6. Bad Sisters

If you're a fan of Sharon Horgan's work, you'll love her latest hit, Bad Sisters. Unashamedly chaotic but always witty — and with a few twists and turns thrown in for good measure — this two-season series follows the very tight-knit Garvey sisters. But their lives are entirely upended when their toxic brother-in-law dies — and the sisters are left as suspects.

7. Ted Lasso

We couldn't leave Ted Lasso of this list. What this show lacks in Severance's thought-provoking plot twists, it makes up for in heartwarming moments. While we'd hazard most of you have already devoured each episode, in case you haven't, Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) is an American football coach, who is hired to manage a soccer team in the UK — without knowing anything about the sport. But what he lacks in knowledge, he more than makes up for in unwavering enthusiasm...

8. Lessons In Chemistry

This 2024 hit earned 10 Emmy nominations, and we can absolutely see why. Adapted from Bonnie Garmus' hit novel, it follows Elizabeth Zott, a woman in the 1950s whose only ambition is to be a scientist. Denied her dream by unfair patriarchal restrictions, she accepts a role as a television cooking host — changing life as she knows it, forever.
