The third season of ‘The White Lotus’ has been greenlit

HBO dropped that The White Lotus will be returning for a third season, which comes as a shock to absolutely no one. Although we're only three episodes into the second season, there's no doubt that we're gearing up for a satisfyingly chaotic final few episodes that will pave the way for many seasons to come.

The show, released in July 2021 immediately hit home with viewers and critics, boasting 20 Emmy nominations with 10 wins under its belt. Unsurprisingly, creator, director and executive producer, Mike White is happy with how things are going.

“There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO and there’s no people I’d rather partner with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner and their incredible team,” White said. “I feel so lucky to get this opportunity again and am excited to reunite with my amazingly talented collaborators on ‘The White Lotus.’”

So, what can we expect from season 3 of The White Lotus?

In the fashion of the last two seasons, we can be fairly certain we will be swept away by White to yet another fab holiday destination. HBO's executive vice president of programming Francesca Orsi weighed in with a glowing report of White's successes on the show so far.

“Reflecting on The White Lotus‘ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how [creator Mike White] orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows,” Orsi said to Variety.

Who will be joining the cast?

We don't want to be too presumptuous, but seeing as Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) has joined the last two vacations – and has now graduated from "Petal," to "Blossom" status – we are predicting a return of the messy queen to the cast of show's third season.

Four episodes are left to air of season 2 of The White Lotus, and we will be patiently awaiting our Monday night watches. The season concludes on December 11th.
