Who is cast in The Housemaid?
Initially, only Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried were confirmed, sparking plenty of online speculation. Fans on Instagram shared their dream picks for Enzo, the Italian gardener, with names like Simone Sussina and Joe Manganiello making the rounds.
Now, it’s official: 365 Days star Michele Morrone has landed the coveted role of Enzo, a casting reveal that was announced via TikTok.

As for the leading man, Andrew Winchester, the role has been snatched up by Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us). Behind the camera, Paul Feig – known for Bridesmaids and A Simple Favour – is set to direct. On top of starring, Sweeney is also serving as an executive producer, joined by Seyfried and McFadden.
What is The Housemaid about?
The film borrows its plot from the best-selling novel of the same, which was published in 2022. It follows Millie (Sweeney), a struggling young woman who is offered a job as a live-in housekeeper for the wealthy Winchester family, Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenar).
According to the official logline, however, not everything is as it seems, and “Millie soon learns the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.”
A synopsis of the novel gives a little more insight into exactly what we can expect to go down: “Every day I clean the Winchesters’ beautiful house top to bottom. I try to ignore how Nina makes a mess just to watch me clean it up. How she tells strange lies about her own daughter. And how her husband Andrew seems more broken every day.” Consider us intrigued.
When will The Housemaid be released?
The Housemaid is scheduled for cinematic release on 19 December 2025.
