Welcome to spring! We've well and truly entered the new season, which means it's time to peel off our crusty layers and bask in sun patches like little lizards. We've endured countless chilly, dark mornings and damp rainy weekends. Now, it's time to say goodbye and good riddance, winter. That means it's also time to pack away your knee-high boots and winter shoes and unleash the toes – pedicure is entirely optional.

So what sandals are we eyeing off for spring, and more to the point, summer? If you observed the street style at Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26 like us, it's clear we're on the precipice of the humble rubber thong's return. If that sounds frightening, it needn't be. Look to our Danish friends for inspiration and wear them with Bermuda shorts and midi skirts or low-rise jeans. Or one quick Google search will procure galleries of images of the Olsen twins championing flip flops. Chic.

And for after dark, the thong is slightly elevated — literally. Dainty straps and kitten heels practically beg for you to run across the street or hail a taxi, Carrie Bradshaw-style. All you need is a tiny midi skirt or floaty sundress to complete the look.

On the other hand, we can't stop thinking about clogs. I chalk that up to paparazzi snaps of Lily Rose Depp running around New York City in a pair of Wörishofer clogs, but that's just me. And for those who aren't in the business of offering up their toes, elsewhere you'll find a showing of breezy mesh slippers and nostalgic jelly-style flats that will put some spring in your step, along with a handful of ballet flats for those who plan to wear them until they're as busted up as Amy Winehouse's satin pair.
