With the warmer weather greeting us more and more, it's time to reevaluate what it means to be comfortable. Don't get me wrong, comfort is not mutually exclusive with style. The RUSSH team share our love for brands like Deji Studios, Venroy, CSB and adidas, so there are no surprises to hear we will be stocking up on their summer essentials that will last a lifetime. You may also be looking for some essential comfort pieces for both the indoors and out – or, you could be looking for inspiration for upcoming gifting for someone special. Either way, scroll on to see the sports and lounge pieces we are buying this season.

I was generously gifted a pair of Kye Intimates Recline Pants about a year ago and they remain the softest thing I own. I also saw my fave Brisbane boutique CAMARGUE is now stocking Flore Flore shirts. It would be perfectly paired with these Venroy Mohair shorties, and a cashmere sock – the Yves Trio from Comme Si are the pinnacle.

I take my comfort-dressing cues from the writer Donna Tartt, who is well documented in her at-home working uniform: crisp poplin pyjamas, a floor length cotton robe and tiny satin slippers. My version involves the Tekla poplin pyjama set in blue and black stripe and Camper’s Wabi slippers. When I leave the house in a loungey mood, I reach for Baserange. Their Kolla Pant and Omato tee is always in rotation, worn over the comfiest to ever do it: the Kye Intimates Recline bra, aptly named. The Omato tee doubles as my pilates go-to, and on summer days, I live in the Kolla Pants and my Lido Novantatre swimsuit.

How do you get me to wear a tracksuit? Have it be the adidas and Oasis collaboration, I love the Firebird track top and pants. It is the only tracksuit I own and the only one I foresee owning in the future. I keep promising myself I’ll get back on the bike so perhaps the Nagnata Splice All-In Wool Suit would help me go faster. Or perhaps their ballet legging? I always love the feel and formality of a silk pyjama set and these by Olivia Von Halle are luxurious and dramatic – perfect. For a little more of a relaxed option, I love the Cultiver Linen Robe, and the Rose and Red colour is so sweet.

Mornings have always been my favourite part of the day. They set the tone, give me a moment to breathe and lately, they have been all about swimming laps. I love this Speedo one piece for its sleek, effortless feel. It’s also chic enough to wear beyond the pool. I’ve also been living in these minimalist thongs from Havianas (via the Iconic) perfect for poolside.
These Venroy Elastic Waist Pants are soft, drapey and effortlessly chic for lounging, maybe over this grey marl Bassike top. For running workouts I rely on the ASICS Gel-Kayano sneakers and this Crop Shop Boutique Sports bra paired with these bike shorts keep workouts stylish yet functional.

I've been shopping a lot of bottoms of late. Firstly, the Foldover Yoga Short from CSB. I like the brown shade as a sidestep to my usual choice of black. I also have Comme Si's La Boxer Classica Trio on my wishlist.
I've purchased leggings from Lorna Jane for 15 years and I'm in need of a couple of fresh pairs. The Amy No Ride Phone Pocket 3/4 Leggings are a go-to, along with the 7/8 length.
These In Motion Wide Leg Pants from NIMBLE look very comfortable, and are in my cart at the moment. And in sleepwear, I'd love to purchase my first set from PALME. Their Ralph set looks very luxurious and perfect for warm summer nights.

When it comes to lounge wear I love pieces that can multi-task. Something you can relax at home with and then elevate with a simple addition like a soft blazer or a cute shoe and you’re ready to go anywhere. These Tibi Light Weight Sweatshirting Winslow Pant is one of those gems. Another perfect multitasker of lounge to anywhere is the Chiara Long Sleeve Shirt with matching short in this gorgeous fig colourway. This set is also great for over bathers and add the lightweight and easy Adidas Japan and you’re ready to get going.
When I feel like having the ultimate lounging Sunday at home, being draped in this Homey robe is like a cosy hug to recharge for the new week ahead. And to ensure all senses are in lounging mode, I like to light a fragrant candle like Le Labo Verveine …and relax.

At every appropriate moment, I’m wearing something comfortable - or rather, loungewear in disguise. An elasticated cotton pant by Deiji Studios or a linen number from VRG GRL, an insanely soft tank from Flore Flore, or a cashmere polo like this one from bassike. This approach to ‘comfort’ in dressing has made me a willing victim of the ‘sport-luxe’ trend - I like to feel at ease while still looking put-together.
I love a long-line short, like this from bassike, worn with a leather thong, a Wolford Tank and blazer. I’ve also been tossing up splurging on these Dries Van Noten sneakers for a while - they’d look great with Wynn Hamlyn’s Darted Trackpants. Sunglasses are a must to complete the look, and I’m after a pair that aren’t black – these from Celine are perfect. As a creature of minimal effort, I finish with RATIONALE’s tinted SPF50+ serum for that ‘sporty’ glow (and, of course, sun protection).
