Catch me for I have fainted for Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2022

Season after season, there is none other than Saint Laurent that leave us floored and gushing for more. Thus far, Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello has already traveled us so far and wide in all his digital presentations, and this time we brace ourselves, in-person, perched in front of the Eiffel Tower for Spring Summer 2022.

The show was phenomenal. It was apparent that old 80s and 90s Saint Laurent is back. This season it was obviously all about sex and the bodysuit; a woman who pledges against all convention - one who is broad shouldered, seductive and strong.

Saint Laurent opened its show with its renown shades in black and white before slowly making a seamless transition into hues of lilac, red, floral prints and royal blues. As per usual, each and every look was carefully accentuated with just the right accessory - as there is no other who do it better than Saint Laurent. We saw the return of the bold stiletto and pointed heel, paired with roughly cut and larger than life gem earrings and chokers, tee'd off with the perfect gloves in the patriarchal colour ways of blue and red.

It was an entirely new staged form of power dressing. The strong shoulder padded sports jackets of the 80s and 90s made a come back for Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2022, all matched with cinched wide waisted belts and oversized frames.

Was it reminiscent of Julia Roberts (both pre and post Richard Gere) in Pretty Woman? Or perhaps Elvira Hancock in Scarface if she worked on Wall Street or was a frequent flyer on business? Whichever it was, we know one thing for sure - we lived for every single look.
