Saint Laurent launches ‘Pink Matter’ exhibition in honour of Pride Month

Saint Laurent 'Pink Matter'

So often, brands involvement in Pride Month, the month-long celebration in June which commemorates the Stonewall riots and globally celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community past, present, and emerging, can begin and end with a rainbow t-shirt or tote bag, which is why it's always refreshing when something that truly celebrates the queer community and their creativity is brought into the spotlight. This is what Saint Laurent's creative director, Anthony Vaccarello is doing on the tail end of Pride Month this year, with an exhibition titled Pink Matter.

For the exhibition, Vaccarello has invited 22 artists to spotlight their experiences of love in all its forms for Pride Month. Presenting an exhibition in the Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores, the collection of works features graphic design, collage, photography, and architecture that celebrates the power and richness of the queer community and love without boundaries. The 29 works that are comprised mostly of photographs, depict raw, often nude bodies in states of relaxation or embrace. People kiss, people are lying heaped over each other. The images speak not only to intimate love, but the love of community and expression within these spaces.

Their work will also be presented in a new issue of the fanzine available in Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles.
The exhibition is also linked to Saint Laurent's Riche Gauche line, which aims to make luxury fashion more accessible.

Saint Laurent Rive Droite is a creative and cultural destination curated by Anthony Vaccarello, located at 213 Rue St. Honoré 75001 Paris, and extended at 469 Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles.
