A new reality show is bringing back the girls cut from KATSEYE

When Hybe and Geffen unveiled KATSEYE, the international girl group formed through an ambitious training program and elimination show, they set a new benchmark for global pop.

The group’s debut was a triumph: chart-topping music, viral denim campaigns, and record-setting performances (including drawing a record-breaking 85,000 fans at Lollapalooza Chicago at an early-afternoon slot). But while KATSEYE’s rise has dominated headlines, another reality show is now taking shape – one that shines a spotlight on the talented trainees who didn’t make the final cut.

What's the new show?

The new show is called PRELUDE: THE FINAL PIECE another training camp and elimination reality show to form a new girl group, just one year after the first.

Skeptics may question whether lightning can strike twice, but we think their confidence is well placed. With KATSEYE’s massive success and the Netflix show’s popularity proving fan appetite for these narratives, audiences have already taken to the “leftover” girls. By giving them another chance – and placing their fates once again in the spotlight – this is their chance for not just a redemption arc, but a story that could rival the original phenomenon.

Which girls are in the new show?

The elimination twist of Dream Academy left many favourites on the sidelines, despite years of strong performance in training. The girls officially confirmed to be returning for the new show are:

1. Emily Kelavos

3. Lexie Levin

What was the original show?

The original show was Stream Academy, a survival-style elimination series produced by HYBE and Geffen for Netflix. The show featured 30 trainees from the Dream Academy global training program, who had spent three years preparing under the assumption they were simply training for debut – only to be unexpectedly thrust into a competitive elimination format on a worldwide broadcast.

Through a series of challenges and eliminations, the final lineup of the international girl group KATSEYE was decided by public vote on the social platform Weverse.

The Netflix documentary highlights both the intense competition of Stream Academy and the emotional aftermath for the trainees who did not debut – like favourites Emily Kelavos, Lexie Linnea Levin, and Adela spotlighting figures who later built large international followings.
