In partnership with Patou.
From Paris to Australia
The French Maison Patou has graced our Australian shores with their luxurious online e-boutique. Originally founded in 1914 by Jean Patou, the Maison was relaunched in 2018 with newly appointed Artistic Director Guillaume Henry. The launch in Australia comes as an exciting first as we have taken precedence over major classical markets including USA, China and Japan. Proving the Patou woman has a carefree ease and charm that matches perfectly with our quintessential laidback lifestyle.
Artistic Director Guillaume Henry…
Henry’s resume boasts an impressive list of fashion houses and designers from Givenchy with Riccardo Tisci, Carven, Nina Ricci and now his tenor at Patou. The Spring Summer 20 collection at Paris Fashion Week was Henry’s debut and a brand new chapter for the history of the house founded by Jean Patou.
An eye for the feminine, Henry’s inspirations are forged from a couture nature that’s light, refined and easily accessible. Henry’s muses for Patou are the real women that inspire him from the day to day, designing pieces that are simple to wear, but not in creation. Noting his love for “the extraordinary in the ordinary.”
A positive commitment, The Patou Way…
Patou’s contribution to business and design is one that is more sustainable and fair. Their approach which is aptly named The Patou Way, is to limit their environmental impact based on four main actions. Firstly, Eco packing - which is made from 100% certified, environmentally friendly, recycled and recyclable materials. Secondly, transparency and traceability – each Patou product has a unique QR code, which customers can scan and follow to the website to find out the lifecycle of each piece. This ranges from original sketches by Guillaume Henry, to the manufacturing by the Atelier. Thirdly, alternative and certified raw materials – Patou’s collections are constructed from eco-friendly materials including organic cotton, recycled polyester and wool. Lastly an eco-friendly in-house program that has produced the responsibly designed headquarters and future sales areas.
Patou houses all the desirables from ready to wear dresses, knitwear, jackets, shirts, trousers and more, along with footwear, jewellery and accessories. Rich in Parisian aesthetic with nautical inspirations and relaxed tailoring - unfussy yet strong and styled with purpose. Our favourite pieces include the cotton garbadine trench coat in sand beige, complete with removable bubble skirt. The golden embroidered high-top trainers – a collaboration with Le Coq Sportif. The classic white shirt with lace bib front and the deep denim structured jacket with gold embroidery for a touch of luxe. Guillaume Henry wanted the brand to be accessible not only in design, but price point too. Despite the acute attention to detail, local sourcing and in-house atelier manufacturing, the pricing for Patou is significantly less than sister luxury Maisons. Just another reason to delve into the world that is Patou.
